This collision of top celebrities, fast cars and delicious food makes Emilia-Romagna the perfect place for drive-in movie fans after Venice.
Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini all have their headquarters within about an hour’s drive of each other, and films about their founders have returned to the same towns and countryside. Man Ferrariwhich premiered in Venice in 2023, was filmed largely in Modena. Parts of the film were filmed by Bobby Moresco Lamborghini: the man behind the legend Around Bologna and Pieve di Cento, then back to Bologna and Modena for Maserati: BrothersStarring Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins. Producer Andrea Iervolino links all three films.
From Venice Santa Lucia, the high-speed train reaches Bologna in about 90 minutes. Start at the Neptune Fountain, whose trident inspired the company’s Mario Maserati-designed logo, first used in 1926. His Michelin-starred restaurant occupies the restored Eden Theater, an 1899 café with intact Liberty-style frescoes.

Its collection ranges from Miura and Countach to contemporary hybrids, while VIP tours take visitors through the production lines. Ferruccio Lamborghini grew up in the nearby town of Renazzo, and Bologna and Pie di Cento provided locations for Moresco’s film.
In Modena, check in Casa Maria LuigiaMassimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore’s country home and secret base during the filming of the film Ferrari. Bottura says the stars of the film stayed there and later shared photos of Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and others at the hotel. His relationship with Ferrari began long before Hollywood arrived. As boys, he and his brother heard the sounds of cars at the Modena circuit on their way to school and climbed a viewing wall. “If I choose Ferrari, it’s because I grew up with it,” he says.
Guests can play records from Bottura’s collection of thousands of albums, find snacks and sweets in the communal kitchen, take a Pasta Studio class that ends with a shared lunch and explore the “toy box” in the garage. The Asitaia estate has more than 1,400 barrels, while the breakfast is designed to recall the Christmas mornings of Bottura’s childhood. “We call it Casa because it is our home,” he says.
At the Enzo Ferrari Museum, Greatest Hits – Music legends and their Ferraris Combines Herbert von Karajan’s 250 GT Lusso, Eric Clapton’s SP12, J Balvin’s 512 TR and Swizz Beatz’s SF90 XX. It continues until February 16, 2027.
the Umberto Panini Maserati Collection Both passions are united at the Hombre dairy farm, where historic Tridents share the land with Parmigiano Reggiano production. It ends in the Castelvetro Hills at Cleto Chiarellia family winery founded in 1860, for a tour and tasting dedicated to the region’s Lambrusco region.
