And she’s so desperate for this love that she thinks will fix her, and she doesn’t really have it inside her… When things end up falling apart, it was liberating to show her her strength and her self-love that she was rejecting. I don’t know how to talk about that without spoiling anything, but it felt cathartic in one scene. Anna and I were kind of crying because of it. “Yes, there’s definitely a medieval boy quality to him. It would be like carrying a book in his pocket for sure. But I don’t know, I think on reflection, with Anna’s guidance, (she) tried to make me not see him as irredeemable. There are some qualities, because he’s kind of weak and kind of pathetic. But in the end, yeah, he’s bad. He’s ambitious, he’s impatient, and he’s greedy. It’s kind of funny because he’s so bad at getting what he wants in the end, because he has no patience at all.” – Hauer King
