In an interview with New York Times Ahead of the show’s fifth season premiere on the streamer on Tuesday, Lior Raz calls the show’s handling of that day and its fallout “probably the most important thing we’ve ever written.” Raz also stars in the series as Doron.
His writing partner, Avi Issacharoff, added: “This was something that burned inside of us, and we felt we had to let it out. Issacharov said that writing the new season allowed him to “breathe again.”
He explained: “It allowed me to take all the pain, even the anger, put it in a document, put it in a text, and send it around the world to people in America, Europe, the Middle East, and of course Israel.
